Breeding and AI Terms

We are able to accept mares for AI breeding only for 2011. Mares can be accepted on pasture keep or stabled livery. Scans and AI will be carried out at Oakridge by our Stud vets. Breeding package prices available on request.  All mares must be accompanied by Equine passport and have up to date vaccinations for flu and tet. Although not mandatory we advise vaccination against Equine Herpes Virus strains 1 and 4. All mares entering the repro unit must have negative clitoral CEM certificate taken after January 1st of the current year and more than 14 days after her last mating.  All mares entering the unit must have had a blood test for Equine Viral Arteritis and Equine Infectious Anemia (coggins) within 28 days of arrival, with proof of negative results available. All mares hind shoes to be removed. Although we will endevour to keep mares in seperate paddocks, we cannot promise in all cases.Whilst every endevour will be made by Oakridge to avoid infectious disease on the premises, we cannot accept responsibility for anything contracted.

Mares can also be accepted for breeding to outside stallions by AI either frozen or fresh chilled semen.

Stud packages available on request. Discount fees available for mares with performance records being bred to Santa Cruz Whiz.
